Starting/pickup location

After the pick up from your hotel in Miches (from 8:00am till 8:30 am depending on the hotel) and a convenient stop in a meeting point to organize the transportation, we’ll move on a brand-new bus to the small village of Las Canitas, close to Sabana de la Mar. The ride takes around 1 hour and on the way, you’ll have the chance the enjoy great views of the Dominican countryside and the East Coast while the guide will give information about the life and local life of the Dominicans.

Samana Bay

Let the adventure begin! It’s time to get on board our boat to ride through the beautiful Samana Bay, home of the Humpback Whale a few months per year, till reaching the small town of Samana, called Santa Barbara.

Salto Limon Waterfall

From the dock, we’ll get on a truck and we’ll make our way to the most magnificent waterfall in the country, El Salto de Limon (Limon Waterfall)! We’ll reach a ranch located in the mountain and be taken into the tropical forest, for a short horseback riding tour along with the River Arroyo Chico. The dense vegetation will captivate your senses and leave you with a real taste of adventure. Ultimately, the trail leads to the picturesque Limon Waterfall: an impressive 170-foot drop of fresh water, right in the middle of the jungle. Splash yourself in the refreshing waters of the lagoons at the base of the waterfall. And don’t forget to take the perfect picture of your family and yourself in this memorable place!

Cayo Levantado Island

While the morning has been dedicated to the adventure, the afternoon will be focused on relaxing. We’ll climb again into our open-air truck and head down to the dock to take a short boat trip to the gorgeous Cayo Levantado, also known as “Bacardi Island”. You will be impressed by the beautiful landscapes of the peninsula. Once on the island, prepare to experience the white sandy beaches and the warm turquoise water of this unique and relaxing place. There, you can explore the island, swim, snorkel or simply relax and enjoy a good cocktail on the beach of this lost paradise.

Drop off location

After around 1.5 hours spent at the island, from here we’ll start to make our way back to Miches, where you’ll have plenty of time to recall this wonderful experience.

No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
Order of the places to be visited may change. (If the waterfall is too crowded in the morning, you will visit this place in the afternoon).
The path to reach the waterfall includes a steep and pretty narrow stairway, so you have to be in good physical conditions.
During the horseback activity to reach the waterfall you will be guided by volunteers. They are not paid, so please tip them at the end of the activity if you have a chance. The trail to reach the waterfall is usually very muddy. You will have to wear rain boots provided by the ranch. Bring long sockes if you think you'll need it.
Children under 3 year old don't pay.
The trail has been improved recently and now you have also the option to reach the waterfall hiking. Bear in mind is around 20-25 minutes walk.

Entire journey on the river cruise was amazing. This is the first such cruise dinner for my family. We loved everything, right from table organising, food, music and the hospitality. Kudos to the entire team !
