Zemí officially opens: the luxury all-inclusive hotel that is committed to the development of Miches

This Wednesday, the doors of the Zemí Miches All-Inclusive Resort officially opened to the public after an inauguration that marks another step toward establishing Miches as a tourist destination with a sustainable and distinctive offering.

At the event, President Luis Abinader acknowledged the impact this hotel will have on economic development and professional training in Miches. He stated that the resort—backed by Hilton under its Curio Collection brand—demonstrates that the country is becoming increasingly attractive as a destination for tourism investment.

There is no better place to invest in all of Latin America than the Dominican Republic,” the president declared, reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting public-private partnerships for the development of projects like this one.

Investment and Legacy

The hotel represents the first investment of tourism entrepreneur Frank Elías Rainieri, CEO of Grupo Puntacana. Its construction, development, and innovative design required an investment of $225 million.

Today, we are not only inaugurating a hotel, we are celebrating a dream come true, a legacy that transcends generations, and a promising future that will bring opportunities, development, jobs, and well-being for our people and for the entire country,” Rainieri stated in an emotional speech.

Rainieri affirmed that Zemí represents the Rainieri family’s “faith and confidence” in the Dominican Republic—a country they arrived in over a century ago—and a way to give back through a hotel legacy that has endured for four generations.

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, praised the tourism entrepreneur’s vision with Zemí Miches and asserted that the project will further strengthen the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism.

A Luxury Offer

Located directly across from Emerald Beach (Playa Esmeralda), the hotel offers 500 luxury rooms, an offering designed to elevate the profile of tourists visiting the Dominican Republic.

Its construction and opening have generated approximately 1,100 direct and 400 indirect jobs, with 93% of the suppliers being Dominican, according to Fred Óscar Imbert, president of Zemí Miches All-Inclusive Resorts.

For Jorge Giannattasio, Hilton’s senior vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America, Zemí Miches “is the culmination of a vision, an investment decision, and a commitment to the country’s development.”
