Miches Pier: a rebirth that invites you to dream by the sea

Facing the immense blue that embraces the coast of Miches, stands a pier that not only connects boats with the sea, but also families, friends and dreams that find in this place a corner to stop time.

Since its reopening on October 13, 2025, the tourist pier has become a vibrant hub of activity: laughter mingling with the sound of the waves, cell phones poised to capture memories. Here, visitors come to enjoy themselves, to breathe deeply, to feel the breeze of a growing destination where every view is like a postcard.

Collado (the Ministry of Tourism) delivered this project after an investment of 51.4 billion pesos, breathing new life into a structure that was left in ruins after Hurricane Fiona. Today, that story of destruction has been transformed into a promise of a brighter future for the municipality and its people.

The pier was rebuilt from the ground up, with galvanized metal pilings filled with concrete that provide a stable foundation where it meets the sea. A warm and harmonious walkway, clad in treated wood, rests atop these pilings, inviting leisurely strolls, contemplation of the horizon, and the captivating views of the distant mountains.

Every detail has been carefully considered to make this a safe and enchanting destination: wooden railings that protect visitors without obstructing the view, a welcoming central gazebo that serves as both a refuge and a lookout point, and lights that, at night, evoke the magic of the ocean and illuminate the footsteps of those enjoying the pier under the stars.

But beyond its impeccable structure, this pier represents a source of opportunity.

With the embarkation and disembarkation of boats and catamarans, the local economy is boosted, and doors are opened for Miches to continue shining as the tourist destination that the Dominican Republic has discovered.

Here, authentic encounters take place: families gathering to watch the sunset, friends celebrating life with a photograph, visitors marveling at the sea’s voice. It’s a space for experiences, for creating memories, for returning again and again.

The Miches pier is not just wood and metal; it’s an embrace of the sea, an invitation to explore, a symbol of hope for a community that continues to grow alongside its waves.
