Miches opens two new hotels on Playa Esmeralda

President Luis Abinader yesterday presided over the inauguration of two Hyatt Inclusive Collection hotels: the Secrets Playa Esmeralda and the Dreams Playa Esmeralda, in the municipality of Miches, El Seibo province, representing an investment of over 23 billion pesos.

Gabriel Felip, President for Latin America and the Caribbean of Hyatt Inclusive Collection, emphasized that these projects embody a shared vision, trust, and resilience.

Felip thanked the investment group, composed of brothers Salvador, José, and Javier Luque, as well as Juan Ramón Gómez and Giovanni Rainieri, for their commitment to this project, which began in the midst of the pandemic.

Our commitment is to generate quality jobs in a destination where we are already working with almost 1,600 employees, and we will increase this number to 2,000 direct jobs,” he added.

A new hub

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, highlighted that, since this project was in its “gestation,” he promoted it at Fitur, in Colombia and in various international settings, showcasing the strengths of the municipality of Miches as a new tourist hub.

He indicated that, as of today, the hotel maintains an 80% occupancy rate. “The entire month of December will have an 85% occupancy rate,” he stated.

Offers for couples and families

Secrets Playa Esmeralda, designed exclusively for adults, offers 500 modern and elegant suites, each with a private balcony or terrace overlooking the sea or gardens. It features specialty restaurants, a wellness spa, and an infinity pool. Meanwhile, Dreams Playa Esmeralda is an all-inclusive family resort that combines relaxation and entertainment. It boasts a water park, nine dining options (including a Dominican restaurant), and seven lounge bars.
